The concept
CoolturArt® Auction Day® an art event based on an original curatorial concept, which combines the approach of a contemporary art exhibition with the immediacy of a live auction.
The focus is always on the curator’s selection. The works on display do not appear as individual lots, but in dialogue with one another, as part of a carefully constructed artistic concept. The exhibition setting provides an opportunity for visitors to familiarise themselves in person with the works, their background and the artists’ intentions prior to the auction.
Linked to this is the live auction, which offers a direct and transparent way of acquiring works of art. Bids are placed according to a pre-determined order, so the process is clear and easy for participants to follow from start to finish.
Auction Day® At the same time, it is more than just an exhibition and an auction: it is a meeting point for artists, collectors, art enthusiasts, and cultural and business figures alike. It is an environment where the artworks are accompanied by personal experiences, dialogue and connections as well.

The first CoolturArt® Auction Day® This was the first public realisation of the concept: a contemporary art exhibition, the personal presence of the artists and a live auction were brought together within the framework of a single event.
The exhibition presented a selection of works by four contemporary artists and also served as the starting point for a series of events planned for the longer term.

The event was hosted by the DEMKI Debrecen Cultural Centre and Youth Centre. The programme was organised in collaboration with Dániel János Halász, director of DEMKI; Sándor Gulyás, vice-president of VOSZ; the talented young people from the KSZC Márokpapi Lélekhang School; and the Beregi Keresztszemes community.
We would like to thank all our institutional partners, contributors, artists and visitors who, through their presence and their work, helped make the first CoolturArt® Auction Day® to bring it about.

A personalised arts programme
A contemporary art experience at a venue of your choice.
CoolturArt® LICIT-DAY® As a bespoke art programme, it can be organised at home or at a unique venue. A special occasion, where the curator’s selection, a personal introduction to the artworks and live bidding come together to form a single, carefully crafted event.
LICIT-DAY® It can take place at the client’s home, with invited guests and a standing reception, or at a venue in the relevant city that has been selected to suit the nature of the event and is available for hire. The programme can be organised as an invitation-only event or as a ticketed event, as required.
Every event is tailored to the specific venue, audience and concept. The CoolturArt® It establishes a coherent artistic framework, ranging from the curatorial concept and the selection of artworks to the professional preparation of the live auction.
Additional services can always be tailored to the nature of the event and the client’s requirements.
Registration and booking
Process
The event is preceded by a curatorial and organisational process.
Each event is structured around a distinct artistic and visual concept. This determines the theme of the exhibition, the group of artists involved and the relationship between the works.
The works to be exhibited at CoolturArt® based on the curator’s selection, they are included in the event’s programme. In the selection process, alongside the individual quality of each work, the role they play within the exhibition as a whole is also a key factor.
The works are displayed in an exhibition setting prior to the live auction, providing an opportunity to view them in person and to gain a more detailed understanding of the works.
The works designated for auction will be presented during the event, in a specific order and in accordance with the auction rules. Participants may follow the auction proceedings in person and submit their bids.
Auction Day® does not end with the conclusion of the event. The CoolturArt® It documents the exhibition, the artists’ participation and the professional history of the event, thereby making each occasion part of an artistic project that unfolds over the longer term.
