SoNa Sahakian (1996) is a visual artist based in The Hague who graduated with a degree in Fine Art from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. Her practice spans the intersections of painting, drawing, collage, photography, installation and video art. In recent years, she has taken part in numerous international group exhibitions and art projects.
Her work centres on an exploration of time, memory and the inner layers of human existence. In her art, the past and the present are not separate concepts, but intertwined experiences that give rise to new meanings. For him, remembrance is not a look back, but a continuous transformation: an internal process that shapes our identity time and again.
Her painting and visual thinking are both sensitive and philosophical. She approaches themes of life, transience, rebirth and human relationships through subtle symbolism, whilst leaving room for the viewer\u2019s personal interpretation. Her works do not offer definitive answers, but invite a quiet dialogue.
One of the greatest strengths of SoNa\u2019s work is its sense of self. She does not follow trends or conform to expectations, but consistently draws upon her own inner world. The unique atmosphere of her art is both contemporary and timeless, whilst the themes of love, acceptance and human connection run subtly yet consistently through her works.
From a curator\u2019s perspective, SoNa Sahakian\u2019s art is particularly noteworthy because it is capable of articulating the deepest human questions with quiet naturalness. Her works are not loud, yet they leave a lasting impression on the viewer. They remind us that one of the most important roles of art today is still to forge connections \u2013 with ourselves, with one another, and with the memories that live within us.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
